Training fellowships will be awarded to deserving applicants pursuing professional career in any field of neuro-oncology to help acquire new practical knowledge or further enhance their existing skill-set. The awardee can spend quality time (anywhere between 4-6 weeks) for the specified purpose in any institute within India. A lump sum amount of Rs 35,000/- (Rupees Thirty Five Thousand only)each will be given to the successful awardee(s) to cover their cost of travel, accommodation and living expenses. He/she will have to show proof of completing the referenced fellowship with certification from the host.


Eligibility

The applicant:
  1. should not have completed 40 years of age as of January 1st, 2017.
  2. should be of Indian origin.
  3. should be an ISNO member at the time of applying for the fellowship.
  4. should be within seven years of acquiring highest qualification (MSc, PhD, MD, DM, MCh).
  5. should select a host institution within Indiaand provide acceptance of the host institution.
  6. should avail of the training fellowship within the calendar year (2017).

Application procedure:

Those wishing to apply for the training fellowships should submit their application on paper providing basic details of the skill/knowledge that they propose to acquire during the tenure of their fellowship at the host institution. A letter of acceptance for the training fellowship from the host institution is mandatory. Contact details (name designation, and e-mail address) of the supervisor/mentor in the host institution is desirable at the time of submitting the application. A brief CV of the applicant should also be part of the submission. A soft copy (in the form of a CD/DVD or pen-drive) of the application also needs to be submitted. Incomplete submissions will be liable to be not considered for the fellowship award. Final results will be declared at the forthcoming annual ISNO meeting at Bangalore.The awardee would need to submit a ‘Fellowship Report’ to the ISNO secretariat briefly describing his work during the tenure of the fellowship duly signed by the mentor/supervisor of the host institution within two months of completion of the fellowship. The awardee will also need to submit all receipts in original to the ISNO secretariat for reimbursement of the fellowship grant. Failure to comply with above may result in forfeiture of the grant.
