This award will be given toany person with a post-graduate qualification (medical degree or doctorate or masters degree) who has done outstanding work in any field related to neuro-oncology pertaining to either service, education, or research with potentially significant impact
Eligibility criteria
The applicant:
- should have either post-graduate medical degree (MCh/DM/MD) or doctorate in life sciences/health sciences (PhD), or masters degree (MS/MSc).
- should be a person of Indian origin.
- should be less than 45 years of age as on 1st January 2017.
- should have done the majority (if not entirely) of the submitted work pertaining to the field of neuro-oncology in an Institute / Medical College / University within India.
- should be lead researcher or played significant role in the collaborative group for submitted work.
- should be an ISNO member at the time of submitting the work for the award.
Other conditions:
- Application should highlight the details of the work done and its relevance at national and international level.Any pertinent abstracts presented in a major national/international conference and/or full length papers (published or accepted) within the last 2 years (calendar year2015-2016) may be attached with the application.
- Applicant can submit application himself without the need for nomination by an ISNO member.
- Applicant should provide contact details (name, institution, affiliation, phone number and e-mail address) of three referees (national and/or international) with their application, without which the application will be considered as incomplete.
- Applicants with published full length papers in high-impact journals will be preferred.
- The award carries a cash prize and a citation.
- The awardee will be given an opportunity to make a brief oral presentation describing his/her work during the Annual Meeting of the ISNO at Bangalorein the Awards Session.
Submission procedure:
Please send the application in paper format detailing the scientific contributionsincluding the reprint of any relevant abstracts/papers (if any) to be considered for the award. A curriculum-vitae (CV) of the applicant and contact details of three referees must accompany the submission. A soft copy (in the form of a CD/DVD or as e-mail attachments) of the submission also needs to be included along with application. Incomplete submissions will be liable to be not considered for the award.
