This award will be given to a person with a post-graduate medical degree who has done excellent research inbasic and/or molecular neuro-oncology
Eligibility criteria:
- The nominee should have a post graduate master’s degree in any clinical fields related to neuro-oncology practice (MCh in Neurosurgery; DM in Neurology; MD in Radiation Oncology; or DM in Medical or Pediatric Oncology). It is expected that the nominee is currently active in some form of clinical work (clinics, wards etc) either full or at least part time.
- The nominee should be of Indian origin and done the entire / majority of the work in an Institute / Medical College / University within India.
- The nominee should not have completed 50 yearsas on January 1st, 2017.
- The award would be given to a specific basic and / or molecular biology work done in India and may have been published within last one year in a reputed journal. The nominee should be either a lead researcher or have played a significant part within the collaborative group for the submitted work.
- The nomineeshould be an ISNO memberat the time of submission.
- The applicant should be nominated by an ISNO member and self-nominations will not be accepted.
- A relevant published paper related to the applicant’s research work and published in the last calendar year (2016) if any, is highly recommended. A pdf of the publication or a copy of the manuscript in case it is accepted and in press (with proof of acceptance from the journal) along with a no-objection certificate from all the authors of the published manuscript should be submitted along with the application.
- The award carries a cash prize and a citation.
- The awardee will be given an opportunity to make an oral presentationduring the Annual Meeting of the ISNO in Bangalorein the Awards Session.
Nomination procedure:
Please send the application on a piece of paper detailing the scientific contributionsincluding the reprint of the published paper, if any, to be considered for the award. A CV of the applicant along with a formal nomination by an ISNO member (with name, signature, date, affiliation, address and ISNO Membership number) must accompany the submission. A soft copy (in the form of a CD/DVD or a pen-drive) of the submission also needs to be included along with application. Incomplete submissions will be liable to be not considered for the award.
